What you'll do:
The Business Analyst is part of the design efforts to offer a new solution or value proposition to customers, documenting existing business processes and associated information systems requiring high degrees of functional integration. This position will work with Geotab business units, understanding their business requirements and providing process, policy and technical solutions to meet and support those requirements utilizing Business Analysis competencies.
How you'll make an impact

Establish scope for new programs, projects and initiatives led by the Business Systems organization.

Work with stakeholders to get consensus on project objectives, benefits, assumptions, constraints and present business analysis findings in the form of a business case (including scope statement and business requirements).

Partner with business and technology teams to create requirements, epics, features, user stories, mock-ups, as well as detailed acceptance criteria and leading edge business processes. Work with developers in order to create a simple, meaningful, efficient solution to business and systems requirements, and present this solution and obtain buy-off from the user community.

Generate requirements documents that outline the solution in business terms, and create clear requirements to enable application development. Document elicitation results and validate that requirements are understood, agreed to and signed off by stakeholders.

Supplement requirements with detailed use cases, business processes diagrams, wireframes and workflow diagrams to illustrate business needs.

Manage change in scope and support solution design discussions and ensure proposed solutions aligns with requirements and maximizes value to stakeholders.

Work closely with project managers to ensure requirements are met on projects.

Develop test cases for new designs that validate the process and the system solution, and to execute testing for bug fixes and new capabilities being released.

Partner with business stakeholders to support User Acceptance Testing and data validation efforts. Participate in the development of training content for business users.
What you'll bring to the role
-
1-3 years business analysis experience working with stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment. Project Management experience is a strong plus.

Excellent analytical and writing skills, to evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish solution ideas from requirements, and distinguish user requests from underlying needs.

Experience in requirements management, including collecting, documenting, analyzing, tracing, validating, prioritizing and controlling change.

Experience gathering and preparing level-of-effort estimates, use cases, test cases and plans.

Experience with Agile methodology is highly valued.

Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.

Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-
Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve well-judged decisions.

A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.

Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).

Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
