Principal Founding Engineer – SaaS (HYBRID | Full-Time)
We’re building a next-generation platform that uses AI to automate complex document workflows and enterprise processes—and we’re looking for a Principal Founding Engineer to help us bring it to life.
This is a rare opportunity to join an early-stage startup at the ground level. You’ll work side-by-side with the founders to architect the product, build the foundation, and scale fast. You’ll be trusted to make high-impact technical decisions—and be hands-on in bringing them to life.
🔧 What You’ll Do
- Own the tech stack: Integrate the frontend, backend, AI/ML models, and OCR/image recognition systems into a unified, scalable platform
- Be hands-on: Write production-quality code, ship MVPs quickly, and iterate with real user feedback
- Design systems: Define a modern microservices architecture that supports structured and unstructured data at scale
- Drive innovation: Collaborate with founders and product leaders to solve tough technical problems with creative solutions
- Lead & mentor: Help grow the engineering team, manage contractors, and mentor future technical hires
- Establish technical culture: Set coding standards, implement review processes, and foster engineering excellence from day one
⚙️ What You Bring
- 7–12 years of engineering experience, with deep exposure to building and scaling platforms
- Proven ability to design distributed systems and scalable APIs
- Experience working across the stack with technologies like React, Next.js, Vue, Node.js, Python, and MERN
- Strong database experience (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis) and understanding of data modeling
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts like OCR, image recognition, LLMs, RAGs, and NLP
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
- A startup mindset—comfortable with ambiguity, resourceful, and bias toward execution
- Great communicator who can translate technical decisions into business impact
