Geotab is seeking a Marketing Specialist, who will play a critical role in the management of campaigns, brand activations, and lead generation efforts, ensuring consistency of messaging across all marketing media. Acting as a liaison between the business function leaders and marketing, the Marketing Specialist will assist in the translation of overall business needs into alignment with Geotab’s marketing strategy. You’ll participate in the development of processes for lead generation and brand activations, including success stories, brand naming, templates, guidelines, and playbooks, all of which will empower our teams to effectively convey our brand's essence. What you'll do:
As a Marketing Specialist key area of responsibility will support the assessment of the overall health and strength of Geotab’s brand and suggest changes or improvements to keep us at the forefront of the industry. You’ll bring new thinking and innovation to further strengthen Geotabs lead generation, brand recognition, loyalty and equity. You'll wear a Scrum Master-like hat, enabling our marketing team to self-organize within our campaign and content activation workflows. You’ll write/edit and provide editorial guidance on marketing assets ensuring brand voice, style and tone align with brand guidelines. You’ll manage the content calendar, content resource library, newsletter and associated content performance reporting, bringing best practices and process improvements to achieve KPAs.
To be successful in this role you will be a self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to quickly understand complex, technical concepts. In addition, the successful candidate will have strong analytical and project management skills with an ability to identify needs, develop effective solutions, and manage projects through completion. The successful candidate will also be able to manage multiple timelines and contrasting priorities to ensure timely results.
How you'll make an impact:
- Partner with channel and/or segment marketing and broader organization to support partner programs, brand campaign strategies, sales pipeline, revenue targets, product launches and overall impact of marketing strategy, and budgets.
- Assist in analyzing marketing data (e.g. campaign results, conversion rates, traffic) to help shape future marketing strategies.
- Collaborate with agencies and internal departments on creative briefs and support global strategic initiatives and marketing campaigns.
- Development and maintain processes for lead gen and brand activations, including success stories, brand naming, templates, guidelines, and playbooks.
- Manage and maintain brand guidelines/architecture in collaboration with Content Marketing (tone of voice), Creative Services (visual identity) and Strategic Communications (vision/mission).
- Manage the content calendar, content resource library, newsletter and publishing associated content, optimizing as business requirements evolve.
- Facilitate self-organization within our campaign and content workflows and be the liaison for content services requests, routing across the business as appropriate.
- Provide assistance on special projects and creative campaigns: brainstorming ideas, concepts, writing messaging, maintaining brand alignment, and tracking deliverables.
What you'll bring to this role:
- 3-5 years of requires experience in Marketing.
- Bachelor's or Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree specialization in Marketing, Business, Communications or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in related field may be substituted.Thorough understanding of branding and marketing principles, integrated marketing and performance analytics and tools.
- Passionate about brand marketing and content marketing with excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Experience working within a technical or engineering organization/knowledge of the technology industry is an asset.
- High accuracy, meticulous attention to detail, and highly-organized.
- Strong project management skills; able to identify needs, develop effective solutions and manage projects through to completion.
- Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including conflict resolution, and relationship management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfort with delivering presentations and training.
- A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
- Must stay relevant to technology, and should have the flexibility to adapt to the growing technology and market demands.
- Technical competence using workflow tools (WRIKE, Jira), social media tools (Hootsuite, Sprout Social etc.), software programs, AI tools e.g. Google (Sheets, Docs, Slides), Chat GPT, Duet AI in Google Cloud an asset.
