The Opportunity
We are building a suite of automation tools to transform how our teams operate and deliver value. This role is ideal for a builder who thrives at the intersection of AI, workflow automation, and product design—and wants to create real impact across a fast-growing professional services firm.
As the first dedicated Product Manager – Automation, you will:
- Lead the design and development of BrightIron’s internal automation products.
- Partner with the internal BrightIron team to translate operational challenges into automated, scalable product solutions.
- Build a foundation for BrightIron’s evolving tech stack.
What You’ll Do:
Scope & Design
- Work with leadership and domain experts to define priorities, product requirements and success metrics.
- Evaluate build vs. buy decisions (e.g., leveraging existing tools vs. APIs vs. custom tools).
- Architect and secure workflows and systems that are help drive BrightIron’s objectives
Build & Deliver
- Design and implement internal automation tools for various tasks to drive efficiency across the organization.
- Leverage and fine-tune large language models (LLMs) for specific tasks for targeted internal use cases.
- Prototype and deploy tools using modern frameworks and cloud platforms.
- Establish performance monitoring, testing, and version control practices.
- Embed security and compliance best practices throughout development, including secure data handling, access controls, and monitoring for potential vulnerabilities.
Experimentation & Deployment
- Rapidly prototype solutions using off-the-shelf AI frameworks.
- Deploy solutions into production with monitoring, testing, and performance safeguards.
Iterate & Improve
- Collect user feedback from BrightIron team members.
- Continuously enhance models and workflows for greater accuracy, efficiency, and adoption.
Scale & Expand
- Extend automation across multiple processes and internal operation.
- Build a cohesive framework that supports long-term innovation and operational efficiency.
- Act as a driver of BrightIron’s continuous investment into automation tools.
What We’re Looking For:
Must-Haves
- Experience building automation workflows or internal tools at a SaaS, fintech, or professional services company.
- Strong product mindset: ability to translate messy business needs into functional, scalable solutions.
- Experience with APIs, cloud services (Azure as default), and workflow automation.
- 5+ years of experience in software development or product engineering.
- Strong skills in Python (preferred) and some familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Familiarity with security, compliance, and data privacy best practices (SOC 2, encryption, RBAC).
- Hands-on experience with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, etc.).
- Experience building agents/workflows using frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where you’re both architect and builder.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in SaaS, fintech, or professional services environments.
- Exposure to business systems (QuickBooks Online, Xero, BambooHR, etc.), and/or sales ops tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.).
- Background in startups, consulting, or professional services.
