As the Manager, Treasury Reporting and Reconciliations, you will report directly to the Senior Manager, Money Movement Transformation and Reporting on the Treasury team.
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic individual to join our dynamic Treasury team at Wealthsimple. This crucial role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our financial records while driving key strategic initiatives and building a high-performing team. As we continue to grow, we need an experienced leader who can oversee complex reconciliation operations, develop talent, and implement transformative projects that enhance our financial operations and reporting capabilities. In this role you'll have the opportunity to:- Lead and develop a team of reconciliation professionals, providing mentorship, coaching, and career development opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategic reconciliation framework across all treasury operations, including: Bank account reconciliations, General ledger account reconciliations, & Cash flow reconciliations.
- Partner with senior leadership across Finance, Treasury, and Accounting to drive cross-functional initiatives and process improvements.
- Own and deliver strategic transformation projects, including: Implementation of reconciliation platforms, Process re-engineering and optimization initiatives, & Building automated reconciliation infrastructure.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls framework and governance standards.
- Ensure organizational compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the reconciliation strategy for new product launches and feature expansions.
- Drive continuous improvement culture through data-driven insights and process improvements.
- Present reconciliation insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for reconciliation tools and services.
Skills you'll bring:- Has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred
- 8+ years of progressive experience in treasury reconciliations or financial operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams
- Advanced proficiency with SQL and data analysis tools; Python or similar programming experience is preferred.
- Extensive experience implementing and optimizing reconciliation platforms (BlackLine, Kyriba, Modern Treasury, or similar)
- Deep understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks in Canadian financial services
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders
- Strategic mindset with strong execution capabilities
- Experience managing complex, enterprise-wide transformation projects
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
