Our client is a start-up building platforms that power large-scale digital systems in the Ad-tech space. Our products helps some of the worlds biggest publishers operate more efficiently at high volume by combining modern backend engineering, data processing, and cloud infrastructure. This is an opportunity to work on mission-critical systems at significant scale, alongside a small, highly capable engineering team.
Business is scaling, and so does our team! We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer, who will play a key role in scaling and evolving our multi-product platform. You’ll lead complex technical initiatives, influence architectural direction, and act as a force multiplier for other engineers. Success in this role requires strong technical judgment, comfort navigating ambiguity, and experience building high-throughput, production systems.
Scope you can expect;
•Lead the design and development of scalable backend systems across the platform
•Drive architectural decisions spanning core infrastructure and application services
•Maintain and evolve systems written in NodeJS/TypeScript, Go, and Python, including real-time services and data pipelines
•Mentor and support other engineers, providing clear feedback in a remote-first environment
•Improve system reliability, scalability, and observability on cloud infrastructure (AWS)
•Evaluate existing workflows, tools, and architectures to recommend improvements or alternatives
•Influence technical direction across multiple products, ensuring systems are maintainable, performant, and resilient

Must Have Skills:
•8+ years of professional backend software engineering experience
•Deep production experience with NodeJS and TypeScript
•Working experience with Go and Python for backend and data processing
•Comfort in building and operating high-throughput, distributed systems
•Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS), including reliability, monitoring, and scaling best practices
•Solid experience with data systems (databases, caches, queues, ETL pipelines)
•Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly in a remote environment
•Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar across teams
•Curiosity and hands-on exposure to AI tools or AI-powered projects, with a thoughtful approach to applying AI where it creates real value
•Bonus: experience in event-driven systems, ad tech, or other large-scale data platforms
