What you'll do:
As a Senior Business Development Manager, your key area of responsibility will be creating and implementing strategic business plans to secure top-tier client pursuits while acting as a technical SME on the Geotab ecosystem. You will devise business development objectives, mentor team members, and oversee complex partner integrations and service agreements to solidify Geotab as a trusted industry advisor. You will need to work closely with the Business Segment team, Partner Account Managers (PAMs), and cross-functional internal departments to support global strategic initiatives and the RFX process.
To be successful in this role you will be a highly influential communicator with strong interpersonal awareness and the ability to inspire stakeholders. You must be a proactive problem-solver who can recognize subtle verbal and non-verbal cues to navigate complex negotiations and technical discussions. In addition, the successful candidate will have a proven track record in sales development within the telematics industry and strong project management skills. You must possess the business acumen to interpret industry trends and the technical competence to manage CRM tools and sophisticated data-flow requirements.
How you'll make an impact:
- Build and nurture relationships with key strategic partners/customers to solidify Geotab as the trusted advisor and source in all aspects of telematics solutions.
- Collaborate with the Business Segment team to target and ensure closure of the top client pursuits within the segment.
- In alignment with the segment strategy, create, evaluate, and implement strategic business plans for the growth and development of opportunities within segments/markets.
- Fully understand and be able to explain technical data flow within the Geotab ecosystem.
- Devise and deploy all business development goals and objectives pertaining to the assigned segments/markets including the preparation of sales targets and budgets.
- Fully understand and implement options for partner integrations including service agreements, Reseller agreements, Marketplace integrations, Order Now partnerships, and GO device factory installation requirements and options.
- Work cross functionally within Geotab to bring products and solutions to market.
- Serve as point of contact for Business Segment Managers.
- Provide expert leadership and guidance as Subject Matter Expert.
- Advise and partner with senior management on opportunities and projects.
- Collaborate with leadership on short and long term strategic plans.
- Represent the organization publicly and be an advocate for company goals.
- Mentor and train other members of the team.
- Proactively uncover potential business issues and communicate their potential impacts to leaders/stakeholders.
- Assist in identifying business drivers, pains, and problems within opportunities.
- Support Geotab global strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate on RFX process with internal Geotab departments; assist with facilitating this process for BDMs.
- Provide backup to Manager as needed.
What you'll bring to this role:
- 10-12 years of experience in Sales, Business Development, Customer Development. Account Management and/or related fields.
- Ability to travel internationally up to 50% of the time.
- Proven track record in developing new sales and accounts.
- Verbal and written communication and presentation skills;Ability to recognize verbal and nonverbal cues of the receiver and address appropriately.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects.
- Unique knowledge and the ability to apply that knowledge to a broader context.
- Have a positive impact on others to gain support and agreement; inspire.
- Ability to persuade decision makers on a strategic direction.
- Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
