About the job
A note from the founder
Baseline is at an inflection point.
We've built a serious SaaS product for real estate private credit, the fastest growing asset class in the world. Our platform is the system of record for private lenders, which means customers spend hours in it every single day. It's trusted, relied on, and scaling quickly.
What we need now is someone who can help us figure out exactly where it goes next.
This role carries real weight. You'll be responsible for shaping the roadmap of a product that real businesses depend on daily. The decisions you make will determine what gets built, in what order, and why. That's not a small thing. Private lending is an industry that's been underserved by software for a long time, and we intend to change that.
I care deeply about product and user experience. As a former private lender, I've lived in these tools. I know what good looks like and I know what's been missing. When a product is built with real understanding of its users, it shows. Customers feel it. It drives retention, trust, and growth.
If you want to own a product that people genuinely rely on and help take it to the next level, this role is for you.
The role
This role sits at the center of everything we're building.
You'll work closely with Design and Engineering to define, prioritize, and ship improvements to Baseline's core SaaS platform. You'll be the person who connects customer insight to product decisions, and product decisions to outcomes. Not a coordinator. Not a meeting scheduler. A true owner.
You'll need to get into the details. If you enjoy talking to customers, digging into data, writing sharp specs, and sweating the tradeoffs that come with every roadmap decision, you'll thrive here.
What you'll actually do
You'll own the product roadmap for Baseline's core platform, working closely with Design and Engineering to define priorities and ship with quality. You'll talk to customers regularly, synthesize what you learn, and turn it into product decisions that actually move the needle.
You'll write clear, well-reasoned specs and briefs. You'll make tradeoffs explicit, build alignment across the team, and keep execution moving without letting quality slip. You'll be the person who understands the product deeply enough to push back when something isn't right, and advocate internally for what customers actually need.
You'll use data to inform decisions, but you won't hide behind it. Good judgment matters here as much as good analysis.
Who this is for
This role is for a senior PM who still wants to be close to the work.
You're not looking to manage a team of PMs. You want to own a product, stay close to customers, and ship things that matter. You're comfortable with ambiguity, direct with your opinions, and accountable for outcomes. You take pride in the quality of your thinking and the quality of what ships.
What you bring
- 5+ years of experience in product management, with a track record of shipping in a SaaS environment
- Experience owning a product end-to-end, from discovery through delivery
- Strong written communication and the ability to write crisp, well-reasoned specs
- Comfort working in a small, fast-moving team where you have to figure things out
- Genuine curiosity about customers and a habit of talking to them regularly
- The ability to hold a strong opinion and change it when the evidence says to
- Fluency with modern product and collaboration tools
Bonus points
- Experience in fintech, proptech, or financial services software
- Familiarity with private lending, real estate credit, or adjacent verticals
- Experience working closely alongside Design and contributing to product quality, not just scope
Why Baseline
We operate with a professional athlete mindset. High standards, direct feedback, and continuous improvement. We care about quality, but we care just as much about shipping.
You'll have real ownership here. The roadmap won't be handed to you. You'll build it, defend it, and be accountable for what comes out the other side.
If you want to do serious product work on a platform that real businesses depend on every day, we'd love to talk.

A few final notes
This is a senior, hands-on individual contributor role. We're an in-person company by design. Our team works out of the East Room at 507 King Street East in Toronto, and we believe great product work happens faster and better when you're in the room with the people building it.
We also value trust and signal. Strong candidates are encouraged to find mutual connections at Baseline, especially shared connections with Shaye Wali (CEO), Jonathan Keebler (CTO), or Sergio Santinelli (COO).
If this resonates and you care deeply about building products that bring meaningful change to an industry long overdue for better software, we'd love to hear from you.
