We’re looking for our next Senior Security Engineer. Could It Be You?
Your contribution delivering sustainable and measurable results in the following areas will be very important:
Designing and developing security software that powers our fraud detection, security automation, and threat analysis capabilities. You will be primarily a software engineer embedded in the security organization — writing production-quality code in Rust, Javascript, and Python to build and extend the tools our Security Operations team depends on. You will architect and develop anti-fraud detection systems, author the code components of SOAR automations and API integrations, and apply reverse engineering techniques to analyze emerging threats. You will work closely with Cybersecurity and IT teams to align priorities and execute plans for new initiatives, as well as contribute to process improvements and build documentation for the tools you create.
Need more details? Keep reading…
You will:
-
Design, develop, and maintain security tools and services in Rust, Javascript, and Python, following sound software engineering practices (version control, code review, testing, CI/CD).
-
Architect and build anti fraud detection and brand protection systems, combining original development with integration and extension of open source projects.
-
Develop the code components of SOAR automation workflows and playbooks, translating analyst requirements into reliable, maintainable automation.
-
Build and maintain API integrations between security platforms, internal services, and third party tools.
-
Apply reverse engineering techniques to analyze threat infrastructure, malicious tooling, and fraud campaigns as needed to inform tool development.
-
Collaborate with SOC analysts and incident responders to translate operational needs into tooling improvements and new capabilities.
-
Evaluate emerging open source projects and security technologies for adoption or integration into existing tooling.
-
Maintain comprehensive documentation for all tools, integrations, and development workflows you own.
-
Coordinate with IT, infrastructure, and application teams on deployment and integration requirements for security software.
-
Track and report on security tooling metrics (reliability, integration health, automation coverage).
-
Mentor and provide technical guidance to team members on security tool development and automation best practices.
-
Communicate tooling capabilities, limitations, and strategic recommendations to technical and non technical stakeholders.
-
Stay current with emerging security technologies, the threat landscape, and relevant development frameworks.
So are YOU our next Senior Security Engineer? You are if you have…
-
5+ years of relevant experience in security software engineering, security tooling development, or a software engineering role with a strong security focus.
-
Strong software development skills in Rust, Javascript, and Python, with experience shipping production quality code.
-
Experience designing and building security or anti fraud tools, both original development and extending open source projects.
-
Practical experience developing automation for security operations (SOAR platforms, workflow engines, or similar).
-
Experience building and maintaining API integrations between security tools and platforms.
-
Familiarity with reverse engineering concepts and tools, with the ability to analyze malicious infrastructure or tooling when needed.
-
Solid grounding in software engineering fundamentals: version control, testing, code review, CI/CD, and documentation.
-
Strong scripting abilities (Bash, JavaScript, etc.) for ad hoc tooling and automation tasks.
Brownie points if you have...
-
Experience with low level systems programming, network protocol analysis, or binary analysis.
-
Contributions to open source security tooling projects.
-
CCFA, GSEC, Security+, HTB CPTS, HTB CWES or similar relevant certifications
Compensation Information:
-
Base salary range: $95,000 - $119,000
-
The final compensation package will be commensurated with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles.
