We’re looking for our next AI Scientist, Risk Modelling. Could It Be You?
Contribute to the end-to-end development and deployment of advanced AI and Machine Learning solutions for risk modeling. This technical role is critical for driving business value and mitigating risk by designing, building, validating, and implementing robust and ethical models.
Within the risk modelling team, this role is responsible for the development, validation, and deployment of AI and ML models for our risk modelling team. You will be a key technical contributor to the execution of the AI risk modelling roadmap, ensuring the end-to-end delivery of robust, scalable, and reproducible solutions. This role is ideal for an individual with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for applying AI to complex financial challenges.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Developing, training and deploying machine learning and AI models.

Supporting operations continuity and monitoring ML/AI models in production.

Leading and performing rigorous validation of AI/ML models, including back-testing, fairness/bias assessments, and compliance with regulatory and bank standards.

Implementing scientific rigor and reproducibility in all modeling projects.

Providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of innovation and best practices.

Contributing to the AI risk modelling roadmap by providing technical expertise, estimating effort, and leading the development of specific model components.

Collaborating closely with stakeholders to refine problem statements, and present complex outputs in a clear and actionable manner.

Researching, prototyping, and championing new AI and ML techniques, technologies, and methodologies to solve challenging risk problems and enhance model capabilities.

Hold a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field

Have 3+ years of experience in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
-
Have experience in banking, finance, or risk modelling
-
Have strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms, especially boosting and bagging (XGBoost, Random Forests, LightGBM)
-
Are knowledgeable in NLP/NLU models and LLMs
-
Have hands-on knowledge of AI development tools and best practices in MLOps (e.g., model registry, CI/CD for models, monitoring)
-
Have strong programming skills (Python, SQL, PySpark) and high proficiency with development tools (Git, GitLab, VS Code)
-
Have proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), data science cloud-based tools (e.g., Databricks), MLOps practices. Experience in model deployment in production environments is a plus

Have experience delivering and deploying AI solutions that have a measurable business impact is a plus

Are proficient in Agile and SAFe methodologies and related tools (Jira, Confluence)

Have excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Compensation Information:

Base salary range: $90,000 - $120,000
-
The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles.
