We’re looking for our next Senior Manager, Accounting & Reporting. Could It Be You?
We are seeking a Senior Manager of Accounting & Reporting who excels at creating operational excellence through technical precision and team empowerment. This is a pivotal role designed for a strategic accountant who excels at managing complexity across multiple entities and thrives on elevating team performance.
This position will be responsible for financial statement reporting for QFG, being the subject matter expert on IFRS, managing the AP team and ensuring continued process improvement as well as being responsible for syndicate compliance.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including note disclosures

Ensuring monthly consolidation adjustments and entries for QFG are correctly and timely made
-
Understanding the credit facility agreement and maintaining and reporting on required covenants and limits
-
Acting as a subject matter expert on IFRS and responsible for providing guidance on all technical accounting matters and the preparation of documentation on technical accounting rules

Keeping on top of and ensuring new accounting standards are correctly implemented across QFG
-
Advising on complex accounting matters across the group

Assisting in the purchase accounting, valuation and integration of new acquisitions

Enhancing and manage customized financial reports in the company’s accounting systems
-
Assisting during annual financial audits or other regulatory audits as required

Working with the FP&A team to provide analysis on major changes to the financial results where applicable

Actively looking for ways to automate financial statement reporting

Overseeing the Corporate AP team including the timely and correct processing of bills, payments and expense reimbursements

Releasing payments and ensuring proper controls are in place and adhered to
-
Proactively look for ways to improve processes including the review and implementation of AI related strategies
-
Reviewing expense reimbursement tools currently in place and provide guidance on improvement opportunities

Managing the corporate credit card program and processes

Have a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required
-
Have 7+ years of progressive accounting and reporting experience, with at least 3 years at a senior level. Experience in financial institutions is an asset

Have strong knowledge in IFRS is a must. Extensive experience in financial reporting and consolidation

Have a proven track record of lifting a team. You are a stabilizer who remains calm under pressure and leads with empathy and clarity

Have a self-starter and proactive problem solver mindset with keen attention to detail, and excellent organization and time management skills
-
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts to various stakeholders clearly
Compensation Information:
-
Base salary range: $150,000 - $160,000
-
The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles.
