Our client is looking for a highly experienced BI professional to take on a senior architecture-focused role within a complex enterprise data environment.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working across both architecture and hands-on technical delivery. The successful candidate will help shape how reporting and analytics solutions are structured, improve existing systems, and guide the evolution of a large-scale data environment.
Our client needs someone who can see the broader architectural picture but is equally comfortable getting into the technical details, writing SQL, troubleshooting issues, and working alongside developers to solve problems.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will take ownership of the technical direction and architecture of the reporting environment, ensuring that reporting solutions can efficiently access, process, and present large volumes of enterprise data.
A key part of the work is designing and improving the layers that sit between reporting applications and the underlying data warehouse. The candidate will help determine how data should be structured, accessed, and prepared to support efficient reporting and flexible analysis.
The role also contributes to the evolution of the existing environment as it moves toward cloud-based technologies, including assessing current architecture and identifying opportunities for improvement.
This is a collaborative position in which the candidate works closely with developers and senior technical stakeholders, providing guidance, solving complex technical challenges, and translating architectural decisions into practical implementation.
Must Have Skills:
• Extensive experience with Tableau, including a strong understanding of its architecture and capabilities.
• Strong hands-on SQL skills, with the ability to write, review, and troubleshoot complex queries.
• Experience working with large-scale enterprise data warehouses.
• A solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data structures, ETL processes, and data integration.
• Experience designing data layers or intermediary structures that allow reporting tools to work efficiently with large datasets.
• Experience with Tableau Server and/or Tableau Cloud.
• Exposure to cloud-based BI environments or cloud migration initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the architecture and ongoing development of Tableau-based reporting and analytics solutions.
• Evaluate and improve existing Tableau environments and technical architecture.
• Design and implement intermediate data layers that support efficient communication between reporting tools and enterprise data warehouses.
• Write and troubleshoot advanced SQL to support data extraction, integration, and reporting requirements.
• Help integrate existing on-premise systems and data sources while supporting the transition to cloud-based architecture.
• Work closely with developers to troubleshoot issues, provide technical direction, and support implementation.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, scalability, and the overall effectiveness of reporting solutions.
