Loopio is looking for a Director of Product Design and Research for a 14-month contract role supporting our Product Design and Research team, practice, and ongoing Experience Strategy. This role would report to the VP, Product Management and collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders across Engineering, Machine Learning + Data Science and Product Marketing, as well as CPO, CTO, and other Senior Leaders across the organization. You will champion the strategy and execution of the Product Design and Research functions at Loopio, drive existing processes and suggest new ways for our team to level up collaborative processes and outputs. What Youâll Be Doing:
Drive the execution and delivery of a domain defining user experience in the Response Management space, leveraging AI and machine learning to drive key outcomes for our customers
Refine, shape and implement our Experience Strategy, defining and maintaining a high bar of experience quality along the way
Collaborate closely with the Product Management, Engineering, Data Science & AI, Product Marketing, Customer Experience and Sales teams to launch a top-tier experience for our customers and communicate it to the market
Be a strong voice of the customer â advocate for our users and champion Loopioâs customer-centric approach
Mentor and support Loopioâs Product Design and Research team â provide mentorship, support, and professional development opportunities
Build, refine and drive our Product Design and Research process and rituals
Be the voice of Product Design and Research â make sure the entire company knows what Product Design is about, and why we value it so much at Loopio
Lead our existing team to build a valuable, intuitive, and beautiful product that customers love!
Prioritize team retention and support with hiring and performance support as needed throughout the duration of the contract
Experience in managing a distributed team is a plus!
What You Bring to the Team:
7+ years of Product Design and Research experience
5+ years of experience in a Product Design leadership role within a high-growth SaaS company (bonus points if youâve also managed Researchers and/or a Research practice!)
Strong leadership and management principles/values that align with our values of Grit, Curiosity, Candour, Mastery, and Support
Experience leading Product Design in a B2B SaaS companyÂ
Bonus: Experience shipping B2C products at scale and iterating based on consumer needs
Experience working in a scrum/agile environment with embedded designers and researchers
Ability to balance design idealism vs pragmatism (i.e. you know when a given design principle cannot be ignored vs. when itâs safe to be flexible or take smart shortcuts)
A scientific mindset when it comes to validating designs: You know what steps are required to objectively validate your design hypotheses, and you push this work forward
Background in both generative and evaluative design research practices (and an understanding of when to employ each + how to ensure research insights are translated into the experience)

Our employees (or Loopers, as we call ourselves!) live and work in đ¨đŚ Canada (British Columbia and Ontario), đŹđ§ London, and đŽđł India (specifically in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Bengaluru).
The majority of our team is based in ON and BC, which means these employees live and work remotely within a 300km radius of Toronto (within Ontario) and Vancouver (Within BC).Â
We offer flexible co-working locations available to Loopers in ON and BC. Those based in ON have the option of working out of our convenient co-working space located in the heart of Downtown Toronto and a 12-minute walk from Union Station. BC Loopers have the option to work centrally in Vancouver. It is whatever works best for you!
Youâll collaborate with your teams virtually across the UK, India, and North America (weâre just a Zoom call and Slack message away!) with core sync hours and focus time for headsdown work đđž during the workday
