This Role:
We’re seeking a Chief Marketing Officer who can build and amplify the Onix brand from the ground up — crafting a movement around Personal Intelligence. You’ll shape how Onix is understood by the world, drive user adoption, and lead storytelling that blends emotion, technology, and culture.
This is a hands-on founding marketing role in a pre-seed startup. You’ll report directly to the CEO, own all aspects of marketing and communications, and set the strategic foundation for growth.
You Will:
•Define and Elevate the Brand: Position Onix as the leader of the Personal Intelligence movement — humanizing AI and building cultural relevance.
•Own PR and Communications: Secure high-impact coverage across major outlets (TechCrunch, Wired, Fast Company, WSJ) and shape the broader media narrative.
•Tell the Story: Write and place op-eds, thought leadership pieces, and product stories that connect technology to purpose.
•Drive Creative Growth: Lead content and community campaigns that generate buzz, loyalty, and advocacy across social and owned channels.
•Launch Strategically: Build anticipation around product milestones through storytelling, partnerships, and creative guerrilla tactics.
•Grow the Community: Engage early adopters, thought leaders, and experts aligned with Onix’s vision for human-centered AI.
•Partner with Leadership: Elevate the visibility of Onix’s founders through keynotes, press, and public appearances.
•Lay the Foundation for Scale: Build the systems, playbooks, and team structures that will fuel sustainable growth as they move toward Series A.
Must Have Skills:
•7+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or brand leadership, ideally within startups or emerging technology.
•Proven ability to shape a brand narrative from zero to one — especially around a new category or complex technology.
•Demonstrated success securing top-tier press coverage and building strong media relationships.
•Creative instinct and track record of launching campaigns that resonate culturally, not just tactically.
•Exceptional writing and storytelling skills across formats.
•Strong grasp of growth strategy, from community building to digital acquisition.
•A builder’s mindset — thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and leads by example.
