A bit about QFLIP:
The Questrade Future Leaders Internship Program (QFLIP) is a 14-week internship from May to August 2027. This program is open to students currently in their 3rd or 4th year of undergrad.
As a Strategy intern, you will join our Strategy and Corporate Development (M&A) team, which decides where Questrade plays and how it wins: identifying and incubating new businesses, shaping enterprise and cross-business strategy, and evaluating the opportunities, investments and partnerships that help Canadians improve their financial lives. This team works closely with leadership across Questrade's businesses and charts the enterprise's future direction.
Your first 12 weeks will be spent with our Strategy team, so you can:
- Deliver tangible and impactful work across a range of strategic initiatives, including Enterprise Strategy and Corporate Development.
- Develop an understanding of the business and participate in key strategic decision-making to generate value and shape strategic priorities across the business
- Receive 1:1 mentorship and coaching
The last 2 weeks will be spent in a rotational program with unmatched exposure to leadership, allowing you to:
- Shadow an executive on our leadership team as their Chief of Staff
- Get clarity on what kind of leader you’d like to become, through direct leadership shadowing
In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Thinking through how new products, services and / or cross-business bundles could drive profitable growth of Questrade and its businesses
- Building business models and analyses (e.g., market sizing, pricing, P&L) to pressure-test opportunities and support prudent, data-driven decision-making
- Benchmarking Questrade’s performance against key competitors
- Taking existing ways of working, processes and procedures and leveling them up with AI
- Partnering with business functions across product, marketing, finance, operations, and others to bring the right evidence and recommendations to leadership
- Evaluating potential investments, partnerships and ancillary revenue streams that align with Questrade's strategic direction
Previous interns have worked on projects like:
- Evaluating acquisition opportunities to accelerate Questrade's product roadmap and bring new capabilities to market faster
- Investigating new lines of business to surface additional revenue streams and near-term revenue opportunities
-
- Developing pricing models for new and existing products
-
