Location: Toronto, Ontario
Our client is a Toronto software startup, founded by mathematicians, building a new approach to tolerance analysis with advanced 3D geometry. The small, senior team serves Fortune 500 manufacturers in consumer electronics, automotive and footwear. Their customer demand is outpacing the product.
Job Summary:
You'll build geometry processing and computational geometry features in C++ at the core of a tolerance analysis platform, taking algorithms from research paper to production. You'll work alongside senior developers who mentor well, with the freedom to use AI tools in whatever way works best for you.
Responsibilities:
• Build and ship features from design through testing, review and release.
• Implement 3D geometry, numerical and engineering-data algorithms in C++.
• Prototype techniques from research papers, often with AI tools, and harden the best ones for production.
• Debug hard problems, fix performance bottlenecks and handle edge cases in real customer data.
• Improve tests and tooling, and collaborate through code review with senior developers and specialists.
This is a hybrid, 1 day a week in office role, located in Toronto's Liberty Village.
Must Have Skills:
• Strong C++ skills in production code.
• Working proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with 3D geometry, such as geometry processing, computational geometry or CAD algorithm development. Serious VFX engineering work also counts.
• Daily comfort with vectors, matrices, coordinate transforms and numerical methods.
• Solid grounding in algorithms, data structures, debugging, testing, version control and code review.
• Able to deliver defined features on your own, explain your reasoning clearly and ask for input when a problem needs it.
