About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Physical Security Associate to assist with the day-to-day operations of our corporate security program. This multifaceted role includes conducting security risk assessments, coordinating emergency management procedures, and managing daily protective measures to ensure the safety of personnel, facilities, and assets. The successful candidate will also be responsible for creating and delivering security awareness training to staff, and assisting with the development and implementation of security policies. This position requires a highly professional individual with strong communication skills, situational awareness, and the ability to operate effectively in dynamic and sensitive environments.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to: - Organize and supervise the security guard service program and operations.
- Enhance and oversee Wealthsimple’s emergency response program. 
- Create and manage the Wealthsimple security awareness program. 
- Assist in development of corporate security policies and procedures.
- Support on front desk operations and client reception desk as required. 
- Regularly update and refine travel security policies, procedures and documentation to address emerging threats.
- Provide real-time security advice, mentorship, and assistance to traveling personnel ensuring continuous situational awareness and response capabilities. 
- Act as the subject matter expert on physical security matters, creating and providing risk assessments and mitigation for areas such as travel and events. 
- Conduct reviews, assessments, planning, consultations, and guidance on security issues impacting senior executives. 
- Conduct investigations, as needed. 
- Liaise with law enforcement and other external partners, as required. 
- Develop and implement security and logistical plans for domestic and international travel and appearances by senior executives. 
- Anticipate, assess and manage situations where there may be  risk of harm to senior executives. 
- Respond to all emergencies impacting senior executives and liaise with medical and police operations as needed. 
- Maintain a database of communications and people that create a potential risk of harm to senior executives. Analyze data to evaluate the severity and nature of risks to senior executives. 
- Work with the executive assistants for senior executives on all bookings and invites impacting senior executive physical safety. 
- Monitor travel activity and country incidents that could impact executive safety while abroad. 
- Liaise with vendors and other third parties responsible for protecting senior executives including coordinating and implementing security systems and protocols. 
- Assist in monitor and managing the video management (VMS) and access control system (ACS), as required. 
What you'll bring:- Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Security Management, Risk Management, communications, or a related field. 
- 2 + years experience in intelligence analysis, risk assessment, emergency response, communications or related role.
- Communications background or experience with de-escalating on client matters. 
- Previous experience at a Fintech company is highly desirable. 
- Experience with CCTV and access control platforms such as Genetec is an asset. 
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, capable of producing clear and concise security assessments, procedures, advisories and other documentation. 
- A valid First Aid and CPR certificate is an asset. 
- The ability to handle contentious or sensitive issues with discretion and integrity.
- A physical security professional designation such as a PSP or CPP from ASIS is an asset. 
- This position is not eligible for remote work.
