This job allows you to work remotely.
Our client is an agile engineering team helping next-generation healthtech and AI companies connect the world’s most fragmented systems. Their projects range from building secure FHIR-based APIs to architecting intelligent data layers that let real-time insights flow between clinics, labs, and digital-health apps. It’s fast-moving work that mixes deep engineering with genuine impact — no bureaucracy, no endless meetings, just smart people solving tough problems.
We’re looking for a Senior Developer who loves building clean, reliable software and understands the challenges of healthcare data exchange. You’ll own key components of interoperability projects — from system design to production — and help shape the technical direction of the products you touch.
What You’ll Do
- Architect and build integrations: Implement FHIR APIs, HL7 interfaces, and secure EHR connectivity that make healthcare systems talk to each other.
- Contribute across the stack: Ship features in TypeScript, Node.js, and Python, deployed primarily on AWS.
- Level up our tooling: Evolve CI/CD pipelines, testing, and internal automation; experiment with AI-assisted development to move faster without cutting corners.
- Collaborate and mentor: Work directly with technical founders, data scientists, and clinicians; share your expertise and guide teammates.
- Shape the roadmap: You’ll have real input — from tech choices to architecture decisions.
Special Perks:
- Remote-first, flexible, and built for velocity — we care about output, not office hours.
- 100 % employer-paid health & dental from day 1, plus a yearly wellness allowance.
- Profit-sharing and RRSP matching after one year.
- Annual compensation and growth reviews that actually happen.
- Home-office and learning budgets for whatever helps you ship better.
- A small team where your code directly shapes live products used by real clinicians and patients.
Must Have Skills:
- 5+ years of professional software-engineering experience, with at least 2 in healthcare or interoperability.
- Strong experience implementing FHIR and HL7 standards.
- Solid knowledge of security and privacy frameworks (e.g., HIPAA).
- Clear communication skills and comfort working in fast-changing environments.
- Experience with major EHR platforms (Epic, Cerner, etc.) is a plus.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Familiarity with terminology standards (SNOMED CT, LOINC, RxNorm).
- Exposure to clinical decision support, population health, or open-source healthtech projects.
