We’re looking for our next Principal Analyst, Credit Risk. Could It Be You?
The Principal Analyst, Credit Risk will be responsible for credit risk-related analytics, modeling, monitoring, reporting, and insights. This involves a deep understanding and expertise in leveraging cutting-edge analytics and subject matter expertise to generate loss forecasts and portfolio performance, at an aggregate or segment level. Making insights-driven recommendations related to the portfolio, credit strategy, and credit risk-related methodologies. Developing, validating, executing, monitoring, and refitting predictive risk models (e.g., probability of default and Loss Give Default modeling for IFRS 9).
Performing periodic or ad-hoc analyses on large datasets using data analytics tools and software, such as Python, SQL, BIG Query, and Power BI, and generating reports and insights regarding the performance of models, products, and portfolios in aggregate and at a segment level. This role will work with a cross-functional team on credit strategies and the associated decisioning process, and loss or forecasting models. This role will also lead and provide guidance to the team in analytics, supporting them as needed including coaching, mentoring and training junior team members.

Supporting the implementation of models and strategy in the production system working with Technologies.

Developing and maintaining documentation for reports, models and strategy.

Generating insights and communicating the insights and their implications to the team and to senior leadership.

Devising a Test & Learn approach in credit decisioning.

Tracking credit strategy performance.
-
Conducting model performance tracking and validation.
-
Recommending changes in credit strategy based on credit performance.

Proactively identifying issues and conducting root cause analysis.

Impact assessment.

Data processing using Python and data manipulation using Microsoft Power BI.

Translating broad business questions into actionable analytical steps.

Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Economics
-
Have 4+ years of experience in business analysis in financial services, preferably in retail lending
-
Have advanced coding skills in Python and SQL
-
Have 2+ years of model development, validation, execution, and monitoring experience, including statistical and forecasting models
-
Are passionate about analytics

Have the ability to learn and apply new tools

Have number sense and ability to drill down

Compensation Information:
-
Base salary range: $105,000 - $125,000
-
The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles.
