We’re working with an established global SaaS company that is expanding its engineering team and looking for an experienced Software Engineer to help build and evolve its core platform.
The company operates a data-intensive software platform that processes large volumes of transactional data and supports customers around the world. As the platform continues to grow, the engineering team is solving increasingly complex problems involving distributed systems, data processing, scalability, reliability, and product development.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys owning meaningful product features from beginning to end. You’ll work primarily across a modern Java backend while also contributing to the broader application and cloud environment. You’ll collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and customer-facing teams to understand problems, make sensible technical tradeoffs, and turn business requirements into reliable production software.
The engineering culture emphasizes ownership. Engineers aren’t simply handed tickets to implement — they’re expected to understand the problem being solved, navigate ambiguity, contribute to technical decisions, and take responsibility for getting high-quality software into production.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the design, development, and delivery of product features from beginning to end.
- Build and maintain backend applications and services using modern Java and Spring Boot.
- Contribute across the application stack, including Vue.js and related frontend technologies where needed.
- Design and work with APIs, microservices, and distributed systems handling large volumes of transactional data.
- Work within a modern cloud environment and contribute to scalable, reliable production systems.
- Work with relational and non-relational databases supporting high-volume applications.
- Collaborate closely with Product and customer-facing teams to understand customer problems and translate requirements into working software.
- Break complex or ambiguous problems into practical technical plans and achievable milestones.
- Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code and participate actively in code reviews.
- Identify opportunities to improve performance, scalability, reliability, and technical debt.
- Contribute to logging, monitoring, incident response, and the ongoing reliability of the platform.
- Communicate technical decisions, project progress, risks, and dependencies clearly with teammates and stakeholders.
- Share knowledge and help maintain a strong engineering culture across the team.
Must Have Skills:
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, or equivalent depth of experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and modern backend development; Spring Boot experience is highly desirable.
- Experience designing and building production APIs, services, or microservice-based applications.
- Experience with distributed systems and an understanding of scalability, reliability, and production performance.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform or another major cloud environment such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience working with relational and/or non-relational databases.
- Experience with modern frontend development using Vue.js, React, Angular, Svelte, or a comparable framework.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including testing, maintainability, and thoughtful system design.
- Ability to independently take ownership of problems while collaborating effectively when input or expertise from others is needed.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work through ambiguity rather than requiring fully defined specifications.
- A product mindset and an interest in understanding the customer and business impact behind the software you build.
- Curiosity, good judgment, and a willingness to ask questions, learn, and continuously improve.
